Senior night banner ideas by sport

Football senior nights are happening now, basketball comes in late January and February, and spring sports follow in April and May. Here are layout ideas that work for every sport, plus the details parents and booster clubs usually forget.

What goes on a senior night banner

  • One big photo. An action shot or the media-day portrait. Pick one great photo over a collage of small ones.
  • First and last name, large enough to read from the bleachers.
  • Jersey number. Huge numbers are what make these banners look like sports banners.
  • Position, team name and class year ("Class of 2027").
  • Optional: years on varsity, a short quote or Bible verse, "Thank you Mom & Dad", or a college commitment logo (with permission for trademarked logos).

Ideas by sport

Football

Go vertical on a 2×3 or 3×5 with a full-body action shot, the number oversized behind the player, and position plus team colors at the bottom. Line the banners along the stadium fence for the walk with parents.

Basketball

Basketball senior nights are indoors, so plan for gym walls and bleacher rails. Horizontal 3×5 banners with a shooting or dribbling shot fit hanging space. Use team colors with a high-contrast name stripe so the banner reads under gym lights.

Volleyball

A jump or serve shot cut out over a court-line graphic, with the number in a corner circle. If your senior is the libero, build the design around their contrasting jersey color.

Soccer

Wide 3×5 or 4×6 with the player mid-kick, plus a subtle field stripe background. Soccer fields often have long fences, so a matching set for the whole senior class looks sharp.

Baseball and softball

Fence banners with grommets, zip-tied along the outfield or dugout fence. A batting-stance photo, a big number, and position ("SS", "C", "P"). These stay up for every spring home game, so heavy vinyl matters.

Cheer, dance and band

Seniors in these programs get a night too. Use a performance photo, the squad or band name, and their role (captain, drum major, section leader).

Photo tips

  • Send the original file, not a screenshot. Ask the team photographer for the full-size image.
  • Choose a photo where the face is sharp and well lit. Blurry action shots get worse when printed big.
  • We check every photo on the proof and tell you if it'll print soft before anything is made.

Sizes

Our senior night banners come in 2×3, 3×5 and 4×6 ft on heavy 13 oz outdoor vinyl with hemmed edges and metal grommets, from $42. 2×3 suits indoor gyms and bleacher rails. 3×5 is the most popular fence size, and 4×6 is the statement piece.

Booster clubs: order once for the whole team

Collect every senior's photo, name, number and position in one shared folder, pick one design for the whole class, and send it all in a single quote request. Team pricing applies at 10 or more banners, and matching designs look better lined up on the fence.

When to order

Production is 3–5 business days after you approve the proof, plus shipping. Order two to three weeks before senior night so there's time to gather photos and go through proofs. Basketball programs should start in early January, and spring sports in March.
